Mass factors for everyday use
In daily life, bathroom scales and shipping labels treat kilogram and pound readings as interchangeable via a constant factor. Strictly speaking mass is in kg (SI); pound may mean mass (lb) or force (lbf) in technical contexts — kitchen and body-weight tools use the mass factor.
Metric mass is decimal: 1 kg = 1000 g. Customary mass uses 1 lb = 16 oz.
